Emerald Ash Borer in Franklin County

Yes, we have positively identified EAB (Emerald Ash Borer) in Shippensburg and Greencastle, PA . Remember if you have Ash trees on your property or know someone who does tell them that now is the time to act. For most Ash trees a simple yearly soil injection is all that is needed to protect them from this fatal insect infestation. For larger Ash trees a trunk injection can be used that will remain effective for two years.

Notice the "feeding galleries" once the tree was cut down and we stripped the bark away.

The EAB larvae we found inside the Ash tree after we cut it down. EAB is difficult to identify in the early stages,. Quite often EAB has been present in an area for multiple years prior to official documentation.
