From time-to-time, when a landscaping project reaches the implementation phase, a homeowner will ask:
“Can you do this? It’s pretty far out of the box, and I don’t really see anybody else doing it.”
Assuming we can wrap our heads around it, we can find a way to do it.
If we iron out the details during the Consultation and the Design phases and map it out in a proposal, then I am confident that our landscape and hardscape crews can build anything we can throw at them.
As a designer, I get a lot of my confidence from them, and that confidence frees me up to take your project to another level, but it’s the crews that actually take those designs and turn your landscape fantasy into a reality.
Our crews are generally divided into “traditional” landscaping and hardscaping. While, they might have different specialties, the crew members themselves are often skilled in both areas.
Our Landscaping Crews
Some of our crews are dedicated to more “traditional” landscaping techniques such as planting, mulching, pruning, grading and small renovations. At CVTS-L, we are fortunate to be able to let our Tree Care and Plant Health Care expertise guide our Landscaping designs, installation and maintenance.
Our Hardscaping Crews
Our hardscaping crews really make us look good. They can do the “traditional” landscaping work, but they can also handle the heavier construction projects and showpieces. A hardscaping project can include woodworking, patios, outdoor kitchens, water features, pergolas, decks, bridges, lighting and more – pretty much anything a homeowner can dream up.
Landscaping for the Long-Term
Landscaping trends come and go, but we try to create something that is going to look good 20 or 30 years from now. If you’re thinking long-term, it’s important to think about the materials that you’re using.
One way to try to achieve this is by incorporating natural elements into the design. Using irregular flagstone for a walkway from your patio through your planting bed into your lawn can have a much more timeless effect than plain concrete squares from a home improvement chain store, or we can use boulders to build a block wall instead of generic bricks that can fade over time. Natural elements span traditional landscape and hardscape, and they hold their beauty forever.
Regular maintenance will go a long way in terms of making sure that your landscape withstands the test of time. At CVTS-L, we can perform this maintenance for you, whether it is general seasonal maintenance (pruning, edging, mulching), timed applications (herbicide, insecticide, fungicide) or the specialized maintenance of a water feature.
Of course, our goal is to bring your vision to life, and if you have your heart set on something, we’ll find a way to make it happen.
Gradual Roll-Out
For a variety of reasons, it’s not always feasible to implement the entire design at once. Because we take a long-term approach to landscaping, we can either tailor the design to fit the current budget and build out the entire project right away or we can build out portions of the design gradually over time.
For homeowners who choose to do it in phases over the course of, say, three years, we can develop a strategy that saves time and money by ensuring that we don’t have to tear apart previous steps to move forward with the next one. Accordingly, we can take steps to make sure that the portion we build now feels complete and meets your needs in terms of functionality and aesthetics.
Design Fee Reimbursements
If you choose to have CVTS-L design and implement your landscape project, the design fees are reimbursed at the time of final billing. In accordance with our long-term view, the design fee reimbursements are pro-rated relative to project designed versus project installed. If you want to implement one third of the project each year for three years, then the design fee will be reimbursed accordingly.
Consultation, Design and Implementation
From the initial site visit and design presentation through the implementation, at CVTS-L, we will work with you to identify what you want (and don’t want) and develop a strategy to bring it to life.
