Northern Sea Oats Grass
- Ornamental grass
- Very adaptable
- Foliage resembles bamboo leaves
- Very unique seed heads
There isn’t much that Northern Sea Oats Grass can’t do. It thrives in moist sites, but it can tolerate dry soils. It loves full sun, but can tolerate some shade. It grows tall enough to conceal an outdoor HVAC unit, but can also be cut to the ground. It’s easy to maintain – hard cut it once per year and let it hard flush in springtime. In addition to its many functional attributes, Northern Sea Oats Grass is also visually appealing. When its seed heads come out in spring, they hang like ornaments that dangle in the wind to add a sense of movement.
